The Immigration Paralegal will provide general immigration support to attorneys across multiple office locations and will interact with external clients as well as internal support staff. This is a nonexempt administrative position that reports to the Office Administrator and assigned attorneys. There are no direct reports to this position. The Paralegal will work a regular schedule as determined by the Office Administrator/HR and/or the assigned attorneys. The typical schedule will consist of 7.5 hours per day equating to 37.5 hours per week. Additional hours (including overtime) will be required on occasion. This role can sit in one of the following office locations: Raleigh, NC, Charleston, SC, or Charlotte, NC.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:The essential functions of this position include preparation and filing of a wide variety of non-immigrant and immigrant employment petitions, family petitions, visa applications, PERM labor certification applications, applications for adjustment of status, and applications for U.S. citizenship. Requirements:3 years of paralegal experience and a paralegal certificate, or the equivalent combination of education and experience; bachelor’s degree preferred. Three or more years of business immigration experience required. Foreign language skills preferred.Proficiency in preparing and handling a variety of employment based non-immigrant petitions and immigrant petitions, PERM labor certifications, visa applications and applications for adjustment of status.Experience with immigration-based forms, systems, and document management systems; familiarity with INSZoom and iManage preferred.Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Adobe AcrobatExperience using a legal time and billing system.Excellent communication and time management skillsMotivated, self-directed individual with ability to anticipate and resolve issues.Ability to prioritize work projects and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.Must be a team player, willing to help other team members during peak times.Creating a diverse, inclusive work environment is central to Parker Poe’s core values and strategic vision.
